Point Pelee is the best spot to see a huge number of Monarch butterflies due to how the point extends into Lake Erie. Monarchs stop to rest before they take the long flight over the lake, congregating near the tops of trees. This free festival happens near the end of August each year to align with the monarch migration – this year it lands on August 25th.
